The inspiration for Junlan Tingan came from the desire to create a structure that would not only serve its functional purpose but also enhance the landscape of the area. The oval-shaped building appears to float on the forest, providing a panoramic view of the surrounding park and mock-up. The façade features a bevelled bronze-colored perforated louver, giving the building a permeable and flexible elevation. The result is an architectural piece that breathes with the land, akin to a seed sprouting from the soil and taking in fresh air for photosynthesis.
Junlan Tingan covers an area of 1700 sqm and spans three floors. The design team has used simple materials to highlight the structure of the building, allowing for infinite imagination within the space. The building and nature are intertwined, creating a comfortable and eco-friendly microclimate group and a community of riverside elite model life. The first floor houses the service counter of the sand map area and a multimedia exhibition hall, while the second floor is designated for business meetings, shows, and entertainment.
The realization of Junlan Tingan involved the use of bevelled bronze-colored perforated louver on the façade and the marking of the landscape with a concrete show wall and white show platform. The design team faced the challenge of using as few design elements as possible to allow for maximum imagination within the space. They also had to guide the moving line planning through reasonable sales and achieve interaction between people's behavior and the space. A steel line soft partition was used to create a semi-private meeting area, and abnormal-shaped sofas in plain color, elegant finishes, and artworks were used to create a relaxed atmosphere for the business meeting area.
The design process for Junlan Tingan began in July 2017 and was completed in December of the same year. The project is located in Huiyang. The design team conducted extensive research to ensure that the building would not only serve its functional purpose but also enhance the aesthetic of the area. The first floor features a sand map that is consistent with the shape of the sales center, and an art ceiling light that looks like a bright milky way, warming the cold concrete. The second floor, in contrast, is pure and lithe, with white as the key tone, mixed with colorful lights that penetrate in, creating the best decoration for the space.
Junlan Tingan is a testament to the ingenuity and creativity of Gray Zeng and Gwen Ten. Their design has not only created a functional space but also a piece of art that enhances its surroundings. The Golden A' Design Award is a fitting recognition for their outstanding work, reflecting their prodigious talent and wisdom. Their creation is a trendsetting marvel that advances art, science, design, and technology, embodying extraordinary excellence and significantly impacting the world with its desirable characteristics.
